Two-year Karate B.C. Team member Grade 8 student Fatema Mustafa Idrees recently won both a team gold medal and an individual bronze medal in Kumite (sparring) Karate at the B.C. Winter Games held this past March 2023 in Vernon, BC. Fatema’s next competition will be this July 2023 at Karate Canada’s National Championships in Laval, Quebec. Medalling here would advance Fatema to both The Pan American Games this October 2023 in Mexico and secure her a spot on the Team Canada.
