The Matthew McNair Library and library staff are at your service! We are here to assist with research assignments and with your selection of recreational reading.
The McNair library program has been developed to teach students, through their class assigned research projects, the information literacy skills so necessary in this "world of information." The teacher librarian is always available to collaborate with classroom teachers in designing projects that satisfy the learning outcomes related to resource based learning appropriate to each grade level. We are also available to help individual students with their research.
All books in our library may be checked out. Most books are two week loans, graphic novels and magazines are one week reference books are overnight loans. Please try to return books on time, in consideration of others who may need them. Late returns are charged 10 cents per day for books and magazines, and 25 cents for reference materials and Provincial Examinations.
The library is open all day before school, at lunch and after school. Many classes are booked into the library by classroom teachers and students on spares are welcome to work in the library.
The library has fifteen networked computers for students and staff use and a photocopier is available for students use at 10 cents a copy. Limited printing is available Please ask the teacher librarian or library technician for permission before you print.
Enjoy your library. Be respectful of your classmates. Students in the library should be studying, doing homework, doing research, or reading.
