Congratulations to two McNair 2016 Graduates, Max Blanche and Joe Rose! The two talented members of the McNair Mini-School are extremely creative, having created an on-line art and merchanise line (BadSoy), but most recently, they entered a WorkSafe BC contest whereby students were required to make videos that promote safer work practices.
Over the past few weeks, our school has hosted an Open House, wrote our Provincial Exams, had students in the school to study and finish off coursework and assignments, engaged students in Graduation Transitions Interviews, have participated in a fantastic Amazing Race and some enjoyable Field Trips, and are now starting Second Semester. This truly is a caring and engaging school and students develop skills and great memories during their time with us.
Monday, February 1st marks the half-way point of the school year and the first day of Semester 2. For most of our students, they get a fresh start, with new classes and new teachers. In some senses, it like another opportunity to say "Happy New Year". The second half of the year will be very busy, as students in Grade 12 start preparing for life after high-school, and they enjoy all the special Grad events on the horizon. They will also be very busy, studying and preparing for post-secondary applications. It is an exciting, and at times overwhelming, time to be a student.
January 25-28th was our exam week, and students in Grade 10-12 worked very hard to prepare for and write Provincial and final exams in Math, English, Social Studies, Science and more. Many students who were not writing exams also came into the school to do some catch-up work with teachers and possibly remove some of their Incomplete marks.
With the end of Semester One now upon us, there are all the culminating assignments to be submitted for your final report cards. Among the major summative aseessments are your Final and Provincial Exams. What follows is some advice from one of our Senior students, as she shares with you how to best prepare for the stresses of writing final exams...

Calling all leaders to this fantastic opportunity!
Over the weekend of October 22-25, 2015, McNair’s Student Council was eager to attend the BC Student Leadership Conference (BCSLC) in Abbotsford to experience the exciting atmosphere and gain new ideas to implement in student council and our school.
