Staff have always believed how important it is to be present in the hallways to have conversation with students. While the pandemic has ended, we have shifted from a sudden crisis to a sustained period of ongoing difficulty and uncertainty; it has become so very important to be present and to regularly check in with our students. So, we have stationed ourselves in different parts of the school especially during break and lunch to connect with students. A simple, “How are you?” or “Tell me what you are learning?” have an impact and provide opportunities for deeper conversations and discovery of how students are doing.
